We invest creative capital into brands on the up and up.

As the venture extension of Studio Freight, we build brands and digital experiences for rising startups in exchange for equity. Our working style is informal, direct, decisive, and fast-paced — like you’d expect of anyone on your founding team.

Studio Freight has worked alongside companies that have been acquired, gone public, and raised billions. Freight Elevator extends that expertise to investment partnerships, with a portfolio that includes fast-growing winners like Easol, Orderful, Lunchbox, and Hyperbolic.

Approach

We don’t come onboard, push buttons, and hop off. We operate from a place of aligned interests and mutual elevation — we win when you win. Here’s how we move weight and earn our share:

(I) Brand Systems

We build brand systems you can build on. From visuals to messaging, we help you differentiate strategically and technically across touchpoints, ensuring consistency and clarity as your business evolves, from day one to (hopefully) millions of users.presence adapt seamlessly to new challenges.

(II) Digital Experience

We create websites as sales weapons and marketing tools. Across immersive and intuitive experiences, we merge intuitive functionality with compelling aesthetics to build scalable platforms that drive engagement and conversion.

(III) Ongoing Consultation

We don’t vanish after launch. We provide continuous strategic and creative support — advising on creative direction, assisting with team hiring, and ensuring your brand and digital presence adapt seamlessly to new challenges.

Categories

We thrive in spaces where brand, design, and digital experiences can create competitive edges. Our sweet spots include B2B software (where brand experiences are mostly digital experiences), marketplaces (where credibility attracts supply and demand), consumer products (where brand design is a critical differentiator), and frontier tech (where the rules are still being written).

Evaluation

We’ll be straight up with you. We strive to invest in founders and companies who will win, with or without us. We’re not in the business of making or breaking businesses — an amazing brand shouldn’t be asked to save an awful product. Instead, our work serves to increase the speed, ease, and magnitude of success for businesses seriously committed to getting to the top.

We’re more selective than most. Cash is an abundant commodity, our creative capital is not. We can only take so many rides before our precious time is out — just like the founders we work with.

Generally, we look for founders who have been founders before, have serious experience with the problems they’re solving, and have an insane obsession with their mission. We look for products with real users, real stickiness, and real impact. And we look for opportunities where we’re genuinely confident our expertise and execution will accelerate the company’s growth.

For all of these, if we find ourselves squinting our eyes, unsure of our possible impact or trying to convince ourselves there’s something there, it’s not the right ride for either party.

Model

We structure equity arrangements based on the stage, scope, and level of engagement. Ultimately, every deal takes its own shape but they’re all grounded in fairness.

(I) Early Stage

Higher equity in exchange for foundational brand and digital work that defines the company’s trajectory.

(II) Growth Stage

Lower equity, more specialized engagements, with a focus on scaling brand systems and optimizing digital presence.

(III) Late Stage

Selective, high-impact projects where strategic design can unlock big upside.
